The wait
The wait is a painting where I wanted to underline the suspension of anxiety that prevails over a group while waiting for something. A judgement? A Last Judgment? An answer? Free interpretation is left to the observer. To emphasize the dramatic moment I used a dark background but illuminated by spheres of light. The effect is subdued because I used so-called antique oils, a less bright type of oil that produces antique tones.
