The cathedral of Monza
The cathedral dedicated to St. John the Baptist was then moved to the Cathedral of Monza through a fairytale-like representation of mine. I built a procession with the character of Teodolinda, the famous Lombard queen, imaginarily accompanied by her two husbands: Autari and, after her death, her second spouse Agilulf. The procession features a jubilant and colorful crowd on both sides who welcome the sovereign with full joy. The painting is a tempera interspersed with gold to celebrate the partisanship of the occasion.
